Estate Planning - Naming a charity as the beneficiary in your will or living trust is one of the simplest ways to donate to charity through estate planning. About The Foundation
The Lynden Public Schools Foundation is a private, 501c3 nonprofit charity, formally recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service.

The Foundation is a separate, fully-independent organization from the Lynden School District. Its aim is to partner with similarly-minded community members and local businesses to financially support Lynden students and student-centered causes.
Who We Are
The Foundation is a passionate alliance of community partners united by a shared belief in making education accessible to all.
Values Statement
We believe in fairness and strive to provide every student with equal opportunities for success, regardless of background or circumstance. We recognize the importance of working together with educators, families, and community partners to achieve our shared goals and maximize our impact.
What We Do
The Foundation collaborates with individual donors, philanthropic entities, and corporate sponsors who hold public education in high regard. Through these partnerships, we alleviate financial barriers that might otherwise hinder full engagement of students and families.

Current Projects

Remove Barriers to Student Learning

Students cannot learn to their full potential if they are hungry, homeless, or facing hardships. The Lynden Public Schools Foundation partners with local programs to provide essential needs for students and their families, including food, beds, personal hygiene items, and household supplies. During the 2024-2025 school year, 110 students in the Lynden School District experienced homelessness or inadequate housing. The Foundation helps remove barriers so that every student is equipped to learn and succeed in the classroom.

Provide Classroom Enrichment

Learning is enhanced when teachers and staff create enrichment experiences that go above-and-beyond daily classroom lessons. Science experiments, hands-on activities, and field trips reinforce educational concepts that encourage excitement of learning. The Teacher/Staff Grant program provides funding for educational materials and experiences that are outside the scope of the district’s budget.

Support Higher Education

With rising costs to attend universities, colleges, and trade schools, the Lynden Public Schools Foundation supports graduating seniors of Lynden High School and Lynden Academy by providing scholarships to help offset academic expenses. Approximately 50% of Lynden School District graduates strive to attend higher education.

Recognize Lynden School District’s Heritage

The Foundation is dedicated to taking pride in our schools, and highlighting the excellence of our alumni, students, teachers, and staff. It is important to recognize our heritage, while also creating new traditions that build school community. Alumni are spearheading a project to increase Lynden Lions spirit wear accessibility for all students and community members.
